So the whole book to movie adaptation is always a little bit scary for book lovers. I admit there is something wonderful about seeing our favorite books visually.
Book to movie adaptation also frequently lose a lot. Some things only work in words. There is deep symbolism and metaphors in books that often don’t transfer (especially if these symbolisms live only in a characters head).
The “coming soon”s to this scary genre include The Great Gasby and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, both two personal favorites. I’m very excited, but both of these books depend on elements that live very well in text but maybe not so much in visuals.
